Oh, Jgnat, I know how much Myrna means to you. I'm so sad for all of you.
(((Jgnat)))
myrna, my beloved stepmom, was diagnosed with breast cancer early this year.
in typical fashion, she let us all know what was happening in her life, informed herself of the options, and calmly determined her course of treatment.
it was a very small lump, and it looks like all of it was removed.

great advice from those of you about my new found chat buddy at my daughter's dancing lesson.
but we were talking last week and my religion came up (for those of you that don't remember i am pagan).
she took it in stride last week but i am wondering how, after a week of meetings etc she will be towards me tomorrow.
I would just continue to be pleasant and nice and try to ignore the whole religion thing. You will be seeing her at dancing lessons for the whole year and why create tension. Seems to me that many witnesses expect "worldly" (meaning non-JW) people to not be as nice as witnesses. Being a wonderful, kind, pleasant, tolerant pagan might quietly make her question her own beliefs more than an argument would.

(who has sat thorugh a zillion dance classes)
i'm shelly81 and i'm a newbie!
i've actually been looking around this forum for a few months and finally got a password.
i'm not a witness, but my friend is.
Hi Shelly,
Welcome to the board.
I'm not JW either. I got involved when my teenage daughter had a JW boyfriend. The JW culture can be pretty baffling. Loads of written and unwritten rules, and appearances are very important. Feel free to PM me.

hehehe the mistress of quotes - our very own blondie .
they called last night when they arrived in town (nos wish you had been there) and we arranged to meet this morning and then decide what to do.. so i have been with the two of them all day and it has been great.
like meeting someone i've known for a long long time.
It was fun, wasn't it. I wish the weather was warmer, but it wasn't hurricaines or snowing, so I can't complain too hard.
Blondie and Irreverent are so much younger than I had imagined. You know, age = wisdom. Somehow those two are wise, without the age part and such warm, nice people.
My daughter, quite rightly, lectured me about meeting people who I only know off of the internet, but considering who I was meeting, I felt very safe.
Safe journey, Blondie and Irrev, and it was a pleasure and an honor to have to chance to get to know you.
other than telling a person to run:what do you think a person (who knows nothing about the jws) needs to know if they are getting involved with a jw.what would be helpful to them to end things before they get further involved?what will help them if they decide to go further and marry this jw?what challenges would a non-jw woman have if she gets involved with the jw man?what about having children and the struggles that will develop from that?.
if you think of anything else that would be halpful please add it to the thread.
i would like to have a lot of this info in one thread besides some of the great "dating a jw" threads we already have in the best of section.
I think that this is a wonderful idea of yours, LL, and you are going to help some really confused people out there. There are A LOT OF lurkers out there who are in romantic relationships with JWs and are so hurt and confused. I have sent you a PM.
i am new here and i may be one of the yungest to join this board.
i am 13 and i have been wanting to join for quit a while.
up to now, my only access to the internet was at my mom's.
Welcome to the board, Need for speed. I'm glad you don't have a driver's licence yet. lol
hope you all had a terrific weekend!!
amy was discharged on tuesday late afternoon and she's doing great.
when she was discharged we were still waiting for the anti-seizure meds to be completely out of her system, which was really the only thing that was keeping her in the hospital.
Congratulations, Dottie,
I'm so glad that you are all well.
any one have a water softening system in their home?
i just installed one here and am not sure what to expect as far as operation is concerned.
it has been going on and off for an hour now.
We've had a water softener for 20 years and I love it. Our kitchen cold water tap is unsoftened water, so we use that water for drinking most of the time. You need much less laundry and dish soap. Be careful with your dishwasher , and use way less (try half what you used to use) detergent there or your glasses will etch really fast.
I really notice how how the softer water is easier on all the tubs/showers.toilets. Because you never have to scrub off hard water stains, everything stays looking newer for a much longer time.
i've just passed another exam and now have one more to go before i can add "mcse for windows 2003" to my 'credentials'.
these last few have been a bit of a slog 'cause active directory and infrastructure stuff are not really my thing.
i originally intended to just do the developer ones and then added the mcdba because, well ... some of the exams i'd already done counted towards that, then i could just do a couple more for mcsa ... oh look, now i only need another ... well, you know how it goes.
Congratulations, Simon. I really respect how hard that you and Angharad are working to improve your future. If anyone deserves to immigrate, your family does.
well, i'm hoping you guys have some suggestions for a pretty odd situation.
i need to find a job so i can start saving for college.
i moved back to a town i used to live in last january.
Good luck on your job search, Cicatrix.
